Been messing around with a few colour schemes for this one, finally found one that works. And I did another colour scheme for the camera one...

Illuniverse Submission - Dino Planet
I stumbled upon a great little project by Camilo Bejarano of Phlabs.com called Illuniverse and I had to submit my idea of little Dino Planet to Him!
Here are some other great ones from Illuniverse:

The Mountainous Milli-Jane

There's a chill in the air and the days keep getting shorter which just makes me want to run away to the mountains and go snowboarding! I modeled this on my actual ski jacket but it turned out looking a lot cosier and cooler (in a warm way). I'm so envious of my better dressed illustrated twin!!

Some more of my work for decclo

My apologies for being slow again on my next post! I'm still on the hunt for houses and time is ticking on, perhaps that's why i found this tee rather appropriate for my situation!
Let me know your thoughts as they are still in development stages!

A little preview of my work in progress for decclo T-shirts
The lovely Laura Adams has been in contact with me recently asking if I would be interested in submitting some designs to the company she works for; Decclo. It's a a lifestyle and tshirt company with a print shop in Bremerton, WA.
I've never designed t-shirts before so I was totally excited to get on board with this project. I've got to get myself in gear and sort out some solid designs yet, i'm promising myself this following week as a deadline to get some promising designs down. I'm praying for a sudden wave of inpiration!
here's a few simple designs that i'm working on at the moment that may or may not become final designs:
Be sure to check out Decclo:

Breakfast Fry-up for Illustration Friday

This little piggy is pigging out on a massive fry up. Don't worry, it's not real bacon - it's artificial bacon (facon)
p.s. sorry i haven't posted in a while, I've been house hunting in norwich. It's really rather stressful!

Rows of Houses in Copenhagen - doodles by milli-jane

I was in Copenhagen earlier this summer and found the buildings out there fascinating! I was doodling houses outside my window and started playing with them when they started to remind me of the houses in Copenhagen so that's what they became, sort of.

Diary for Illustration friday by milli-jane....again
I had a couple of concepts when I drew my little diary critter yesterday and this was one of them.
This little science fellow is tweeting his daily events in a sort of diary fashion on his iPad. How modern!

Diary for Illustration Friday by milli-jane
The theme for this week's illustration friday is diary.
Instead of having lots of interesting stories addressed to him, this worried little diary has a pile of urgent bills to pay!

I tried out two different style and I think I prefer the hand-drawn one. What do you think?

New york, NY, it's a hell of a town! milli-jane photography
This time last year I was in New York, wish I was back there. So I thought this should be the right time to share some photographs when I was over there. Unfortunately I lost all of the others but managed to scrape away the arty ones!

eatsleepdraw submission

I just submitted this doodle to eatsleepdraw.
Apparently it can take a long time before it might appear. Would be exciting to get selected though, fingers crossed!

I Need To Get Out Of Here
Recently uploaded a project I did a while ago for my art foundation onto Stefan Sagmeister's Things I Have Learned in my Life so Far

We always need to get away because everything we do leads to something new, especially in education. You can sometimes feel trapped in education as an artist, you just want to show the world what you're capable of and get out into the real world.
Take a look at my upload
and have a go at making your own :)

Giant Robot - Illustration Friday (IF)

I've decided to make my participation in illustration Friday more regular. So this is my first entry in a long time!!
My illo features a Giant clumsy Robot in Y-Fronts towering over Manhattan on the 4th of July. It was the first time i'd used the process of transferring my doodle directly into an illustration with colour and texture. It was really exciting!
Above is my quick sketch (produced lazily under the hot british sun this afternoon!)

Alice In Wonderland: Poster by mili-jane
A while back I was commissioned to do a poster for the Alice In Wonderland production at Birmingham. I really enjoyed the process.

It was fun to see the poster being signed by all the performers!

Alan the Apple Employee: Artwork by milli-jane
My brother wanted me to design a cartoon of him in the same style as my design of my friend. I enjoyed this and felt that I vastly improved the quality from the previous design. He's holding his favourite netbook and wearing an apple tee to celebrate his new job at apple. Congrats Alan! :)
